What Kind of Reader am I?
Well, I’m a bookfiend with a voracious reading appetite who can’t walk past a bookshop without having a ‘quick’ look. I don’t leave the house with less than two books… in case I finish the first before I get home.
I read roughly 50/50 fiction and non-fiction and hopefully the reviews here will reflect that. When it comes to fiction I am looking for classic novels, novels in translation, good, literary modern fiction and quirky novellas. I love to be dazzled by wordplay and an author who can leave me thinking after turning the last page makes me swoon. 🙂 With non-fiction I am looking for good history texts, food politics and city design for preference, oh and plenty of books about books of course.
I’ve read e-books but they’re not for me – I’ve got six bookcases of gorgeous, real thingyness-laden books I prefer. 🙂
Where Do The Books Come From?
I get my books from a variety of sources and every book review lists where my copy of the book came from. The majority of the rest come from bookshops or my own long-term To Be Read pile.
